Road closed after Lehigh crash; citation issued, arrests made

Lehigh Township Police Department responded to a one-vehicle crash Nov. 13 that ultimately led to a citation and arrests.

According to a report by Chief Scott Fogel, officers arrived at the scene of a crash in the 700 block of Dogwood Road, just after 9 a.m.

A utility pole had been struck and power lines were down, he said.

Police said a silver Toyota 4 Runner had been traveling southbound and entered the curve in the roadway. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and slid off the roadway into the utility pole.

The occupants of the vehicle went to a neighboring home for assistance, according to Fogel.

The driver, Christyanna Stewart, 25, of Danielsville, was cited with driving too fast for conditions and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to the report.

Passengers Robert Conklin Jr., 23, and Andrew Kovacs, 19, also of Danielsville, were both uninjured.

Fogel said, however, Conklin was taken before the local magistrate for an active warrant and released. Kovacs was transported to Northampton County Prison on warrants from Bucks County.

The roadway was closed for three-and-a-half hours while PPL repaired the power lines.
