Joseph H. Szilezy, 79, of Whitehall, died Nov. 12, 2020, at home. He was the husband of Karen L. (Waltz) Szilezy for 54 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Louis Sr. and Joyce (Peters) Szilezy.
He was a Class of 1959 Allentown Central Catholic High School graduate.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps where he earned the rank of corporal.
He worked as a supervisor of incoming frames and axles for Mack Trucks.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, where he was a collector during Mass. He was a life member of Fullerton Fire Company, Calvary Council 528 Knights of Columbus and the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa A. Yannuzzi and her husband Lawrence; a son, Shawn P. and his wife Amy; a granddaughter, Noel Yannuzzi; four sisters, Marie Lanze with Ronald, Rose Mary Wechsler, Francine Cernobyl and Cecelia Wotring; three brothers, Louis Jr. with Susan, Frank with Patrice and David with Cheryl; a brother-in-law, Walter Ernst; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Ernst; and three brothers-in-law, Francis Wechsler, Thomas Cernobyl and John Wotring.
