Three important Catasauqua organizations plan to link up to create a Giving Tree. Catasauqua Borough Police Department, Catasauqua Area School District and the Catasauqua Community Cares Program (C3P) are working together to develop the initiative.
The Giving Tree allows those who have abundance and want to strengthen the community through donations of any size.
More than 100 students receive food from C3P each weekend and for the holidays.
Items needed are macaroni and cheese, soup (chicken noodle, chicken rice, vegetable and vegetable beef), pasta, pudding cups, peanut butter and peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, pretzels, cereal, etc.
This is an opportunity to create a positive holiday experience for local kids and families.
This holiday season, the police department is partnering up with the school district asking residents to consider donating items such as toys, clothing and/or books to those with limited resources.
No donation is too small. If you can afford even one item to add to the Giving Tree, it will be gratefully accepted.
To participate or to receive a list of items needed, contact Officer Potak or Leslie Estrada at 610-697-0111 or email L.Estrada.Community@gmail.com.
