Sheckler News: Curbside meal pickup changed

Catasauqua Area School District adjusted the days for contactless curbside meal pickup.

Meals will be offered only 9:45-10:15 a.m. Thursdays in front of Sheckler Elementary School. There will be five days worth of meals.

The only exception to this schedule is during Thanksgiving week when pickup will be Nov. 24, a Tuesday.

Winter coats were distributed last week to CASD families in need, thanks to the C3P group. It was short notice due to recent cold temperatures.

Picture retake day will be Nov. 13.

Food pickup for Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund is Nov. 15 in the social hall of St. John Fisher Church, 1239 Third St., North Catasauqua.

CASD is seeking a full-time second-shift custodian. The starting rate is $11.25, with increase after probation. Health benefits and paid time off will be offered.

Sheckler Elementary is in need of three daily substitute teachers to start immediately. A valid Pennsylvania teaching certification is required.

The qualified candidate will report daily 7:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

This candidate will be required to substitute in kindergarten through fourth-grade classrooms or expressive arts positions, such as music, art, library, gym and STEAM.

The compensation is $130 per day.
