Salisbury High School names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. I live with my mom, dad and twin brother CJ as well as our yellow lab named Simba and our cat named Benjamin Franklin.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is social studies because it is in line with the way I naturally see the world and is the only subject that interests me so much that I am completely in the moment when I am learning about it.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society and I have had perfect attendance every year since kindergarten.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I have been a twirler since sixth grade. COVID-19 caused our season to be canceled last year and it is still unsure what our season will look like this year, but I am hopeful about this year and grateful for the amazing memories I have from twirling the past six years.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal is to have a productive gap year with new experiences depending on how COVID-19 continues to affect colleges and to eventually attend college in a big city to study something I am passionate about.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been having to take a step back from school and extracurriculars this year to focus on my health.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for being genuine and trying to see the good in other people.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my best friend Julia because she is incredibly confident, witty, determined and true to herself in ways that I try to emulate.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Follow the advice you would give to your own best friend.
