The first marking period has come and gone and we have changed the clocks back. That can only mean that we are quickly approaching winter and the holiday season. I hope that everyone is staying healthy and navigating this uniquely challenging time as best as they can for their families.
The annual book fair, hosted by Salisbury Elementary School, is now live online. Please use this opportunity to support the school and help your child develop a love for books. Plus you can take advantage of free shipping on book-only purchases over $25. Please visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/falconsalelemschool to browse and make any purchases.
Salisbury High School will hold a blood drive with the Miller Keystone Blood Bank noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 11. Please schedule your appointment for this event by visiting https://donor.giveapint.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/81743 or contact Megan Basile mbasile@salisburysd.org.
SES will honor family members who have served, or are currently serving, in the military. Due to the current instructional model, an interactive slideshow highlighting student projects and a roll call of veterans’ names will be sent home to families Nov. 11.
The next school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 via Zoom.
SES will hold fall parent/teacher conferences virtually this year Nov. 19-24. A link for Sign-up Genius has been sent to all families so parents and guardians can sign up for a conference time that best works for them. Make sure you sign up before the online window closure. During the parent teacher conference window, all SES students will have no classes after 1:15 p.m.
The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club clothing drive is quickly approaching. The drop off will be held 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 21 at the SHS old gym entrance. For information on items accepted, visit clothingdrive.net. Please do not be late as the truck will be picking up donations promptly between noon and 1 p.m.
Salisbury Middle School students will have early dismissal/no classes after 12:15 p.m. Nov. 20-25. Students in SHS will have early dismissal/no classes after 12:15 p.m. Nov. 25.
All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Nov. 26-30 in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday.
