Williams Township veterans will be honored in a virtual service on YouTube on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The program may be accessed at any time at “Williams Township Veterans Memorial” on YOU TUBE
Fourth grade students from the Williams Township Elementary School will pay special tribute to each branch of the service in word and song. George Washburn, Viet Nam veteran, will offer a meditative talk, “Homefront Heroes,” focused on the importance of the folks who supported their veterans from the home front. Senior township WWII veteran Lester Race will raise the American Flag. Pastor Paul Braden of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Williams Township will offer the opening prayer and benediction, including a remembrance of veterans who have died since last Veterans Day observance. Thank-you scrolls made for veterans by the children of the elementary school will be distributed to drive-by participants by Memorial Committee members at the Veterans Memorial at 655 Cider Press Rd., Easton (Williams Township), on November 11, 11-11:30 am, as well as at a wreath-laying ceremony on December 19, 12 noon, at St. John’s Union Cemetery, 2745 Morgan Hill Rd.
The program is organized by the Williams Township Veterans Memorial Committee. The public is most welcome.
