I was at the Salisbury Elementary School Trunk or Treat today and can I say it was amazing! It was so great to see the kids and by the number of students that showed up, I think they were happy to see us, too. Cars were lined up in two lanes all the way down Gaskill Street to Emaus Avenue and up Salisbury Road. Thank you to the parents for bringing out your students and waiting in that long line.

There will be a virtual school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18.

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be collecting food for various food banks beginning Nov. 7. Bags and fliers will be placed on residents’ doors Nov. 7; food collection will be 8 to 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14. All food collected by Scouts with Troop 146 and Pack 146 goes to Grace Community Foundation, Fifth and Linden streets, Allentown. Anyone who did not get a flier or bag can still drop off a donation at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, during those hours on Nov. 14.

One last reminder: the public works department has started collecting leaves on both sides of the township. This will continue through mid-December as they make multiple trips through the township.

Salisbury Township drop-off centers are open on alternating weeks. Devonshire is open the week of Nov. 9 and Franko the week of Nov. 16. The centers are open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
