Robert D. Richelderfer

Robert D. Richelderfer, 80, of Coplay, died Oct. 30, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Faye (Kehler) Richelderfer for 54 years.

Born in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late Frank W. and Hazel (Draper) Richelderfer.

He was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and the McCann School of Business.

He was a chaplain’s assistant in the U.S. Navy.

Beginning when he was 14 years old, he was an organist at churches in Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, Reading and Allentown. He was currently celebrating his 49th anniversary as a music director at the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua.

He taught private organ and piano lessons for many years. He worked in The Morning Call advertising department for 32 years.

He was a member of American Guild of Organists and an art museum volunteer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Dinda and her husband Mark and Tara Nelson and her husband John; six grandchildren, Ireland, Ian, Emily, Isabella, Sebastian and Connor; a brother, William O. Richelderfer and his wife Julia; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Fetterolf and her husband John; nieces; and nephews.

Services and interment will be private. There will be a service of joy and celebration at a later date.

Contributions may be made to the church, 210 Pine St., Catasauqua, 18032, with attention to Bob Richelderfer Memorial Fund.
