Martha Marie Hozza, 82, of Northampton, died Nov. 2, 2020, from Parkinson’s disease. She was the wife of Edward D. Hozza Sr. for 59 years.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Piervallo) Marhefka.
She was a Class of 1956 graduate of Northampton High School.
She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for 82 years, where she served as president of sodality.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Edward Jr. with Denise of Whitehall, David with Kathleen of State College, Martin with Anita of Northampton and Kathleen with Jeffrey Warren of Whitehall; 10 grandchildren, Elyse Dailey with Thomas, Edward “Teddy” Hozza III, Michael Hozza, Caroline Hozza, Emily Hozza, Andrew Hozza, Elizabeth Hozza, Jeffrey Warren, Mikayla Warren and Hope Warren; two brothers, John and Bernard Marhefka; and three sisters, Monica Galgon, Frances Grabarits and Bernice Tepes.
She was predeceased by a brother, Aloysius Marhefka; and two sisters, Mary and Anna.
There will be a calling time 12:30-2 p.m. Nov. 6 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, 18067, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 3 p.m. at the church, 2181 Washington Ave., Northampton. Those in attendance should practice social distancing and wear a face cover.
Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, both c/o the funeral home.
