Donald R. Baer, 80, of North Whitehall Township, died Oct. 30, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Elaine J. (Moser) Baer for 59 years.

Born in Schnecksville, he was a son of the late William and Elda (Rauch) Baer.

He began working at Egypt National Bank and retired as a vice president for Merchants National Bank of Allentown, where he was a longtime manager of the Coplay branch.

He was a past treasurer of Coplay Rotary Club. He was a member of Hershey Antique Automobile Club of America and was a past president of Ontelaunee Region AACA. He helped organize Das Awkscht Fescht each year in Macungie. He was a member of the Gift of Life Donor Program, having received a heart transplant in 2000.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kay Fronheiser and her husband Chris of New Tripoli with their two daughters, Kelly Jenkins and her husband Ryan and children Hunter and Caleb, all of Colorado Springs and Ashley Reichard and her husband Jarret of Mertztown; a son, Randall and his wife Rosalind (Kelleher) of North Whitehall Township and their children Brianna and Andrew; and a sister, Eleanor Kleckner and her husband Ronald of Schnecksville.

There will be a viewing 9:30 a.m., followed by services 11 a.m., Nov. 5 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Whitehall.
