Theft of motor vehicle
Edgardo Javier Marcial-Diaz, 29, of Johnstown, was taken into custody after he allegedly took a black Cadillac SRX luxury sport utility vehicle from a parking lot in the 1000 block of Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1 p.m. Sept. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A security system in the vehicle allowed police to track the vehicle. City of Allentown Police located the vehicle in the 1200 block of South Fourth Street, Allentown City, where the vehicle was found running with Marcial-Diaz allegedly in the driver’s seat. He was taken to the Lehigh County Booking Center.
DUI
A 41-year-old male, of Orefield, allegedly was driving under the influence of a controlled substance when he crashed his vehicle into a vehicle driven by a 66-year-old male, of Kempton, along Interstate 78 East in Lower Macungie Township, 9:01 a.m. Sept. 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Bad checks
A resident of the 4700 block of Kohler Road, Upper Milford Township, received a bad check for $850 and allegedly written by a co-worker between Sept. 15 and Oct. 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
False alarms
Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville troopers responded for an alarm to a business in the 700 block of North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:34 a.m. Sept. 22. Investigators determined the alarm was false and the sixth such alarm at the business within 12 months, prompting a citation against the business, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville troopers responded to BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, 665 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 6:54 p.m. Oct. 17 for a false alarm. The alarm was the sixth such incident within 12 months, prompting a citation against the business, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Drug possession
Jaden Trey Vazquez, 18, of Alburtis, allegedly had marijuana in a vehicle at a traffic stop at the intersection of Riverbend Road and South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 12:05 a.m. Sept. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogeslville.
Harassment
A 26-year-old female, of Macungie and a 53-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly were involved in an argument with other people in a confrontation involving shouting obscenities and spitting in the area of Clauss Drive and Scenic View Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 9:54 p.m. Oct. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 51-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly sent slanderous text messages to former coworkers after he was fired from a business, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The former employee allegedly told members in the group text messages the wife of the boss had tested positive for COVID-19 when it was known to be a false statement. Investigators stated the comment was made out of spite with intent to cause alarm and inconvenience. According to the complainant, of Clauss Drive, Lower Macungie Township, employees responded to the message they were unwilling to work because of the news in the group text. The incident was reported 10:30 a.m. Oct. 19.
Criminal mischief
Graffiti was spray painted on a turnpike overpass and nearby mailbox along Limeport Pike overnight May 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
