Hybrid classes begin week of Oct. 26

Hybrid, in-person school commenced Oct. 26 for hybrid students with the last names beginning with letters A-K (cohort A). Hybrid, in-person school will commence Oct. 29 for hybrid students with the last names beginning with letters L-Z (cohort B).

During the week of the Oct. 26, cohort A will attend school in person Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. During that same week, cohort B will go to school in person Thursday and Friday. When not physically in school, students are still expected to login to classes via Zoom.

There will be a boys varsity football game against Parkland High School at Orefield Middle School 7 p.m. Oct. 30.

Given Gov. Tom Wolfe’s new directive due to coronavirus, sporting events will be held to a limited audience. At the East Penn School District stadium, two tickets will be given per student athlete for home football, cheer and band member and two tickets per student athlete for visting football, cheer and band member.

The soccer/field hockey memorial field will provide three tickets for each home team student athlete and two for each visiting student athlete. Limitations for the auxiliary gym in Emmaus High School and the gyms in Eyer Middle School/Lower Macungie Middle School are the same, with two ticket limits per home and visiting student athletes. Tickets will be provided by the head coaches to the player for them to distribute as they so choose.

Winter sports sign-ups are now available and can be found on the EHS website. Students interested in joining winter sports should complete the sign up form on the Web page and mail completed physicals to EHS or hand them in at the main office.

Fall freshman SGA applications are now open. Ninth graders interested in student government should complete the application that can be found within the group’s Schoology. Applications are due Nov. 1.

Senior SGA is conducting a virtual homecoming court that can be reached on Twitter (@SGAEHS) and Instagram (@ehs_sga). Seniors are invited to vote for their classmates to nominate a homecoming king and queen.
