Ballot drop off box at Emmaus Borough Hall
Jeff and Julie Browne placed their mail-in ballots in the recently installed Lehigh County drop off box at Emmaus Borough Hall, 28 S. Fourth St., Emmaus Oct. 19. The married couple from Lower Macungie Township felt casting their votes here would be more secure and would eliminate possible postal delays.
Located inside the borough office entrance, the box can only be accessed by voters 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This official mail-in ballot drop off box is one of five installed at Lehigh County locations. For those who, like the Brownes, are more comfortable utilizing the drop-off locations instead of the U.S. Postal Service, mail-in ballot drop off boxes can be found at:
• North Whitehall Township Building; 3256 Levans Road, Coplay; 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Upper Macungie Township Building; 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville; 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Catasauqua Municipal Building; 90 Bridge St., Catasauqua; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Lehigh County Government Center; 17 S. Seventh St., Allentown; 24/7 night drop box. Mail-in ballots can be handed directly to office staff 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 610 782-3194.
Joe Biden campaign volunteer Margot Hillman from Bethlehem, was on hand up the street from the Emmaus Borough Hall to answer questions regarding rules and procedures. She cautioned that, despite misinformation circulating recently, only one mail-in ballot can be dropped off per voter.
Anyone dropping off an additional ballot for a spouse or a disabled person needs to have filled out “a signed declaration by the voter and the person rendering assistance,” according to instructions posted on the drop off box. The paperwork is available through the Lehigh County Government Center.
