The George Taylor House committee is developing plans for a Halloween Harvest and Haunts event, beginning 1 p.m. Oct. 31 and continuing until 1 a.m. Nov. 1 at the historic house, Lehigh and Poplar streets, Catasauqua.
Typically at George Taylor House events, one sees colonial- garbed volunteers providing tours and explaining what life was like in the 18th century, but this event will feature the supernatural as well.
During the daylight hours – 1-4 p.m. – there will be family- friendly tours and living history exhibits, such as cooking presentations, an 18th- century militia camp and musket demonstrations. The daylight tours are $10 per family.
But, as day turns to night and the only light is from flickering candles, supernatural tours of the old house will begin. These tours are 6-10 p.m. with a price of $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and up. Perhaps, a ghost or two may eerily emerge from ghost stories told after dark.
Hear spooky personal experiences of volunteers and visitors about what has occurred within the walls and on the grounds of George Taylor’s home, built in 1768.
Light refreshments will be available for a donation.
For those fearless few, for the first time ever, there will be a VIP access/tour investigation 11 p.m.-1 a.m. for one group of up to eight people.

Catasauqua Borough Council, although not officially sanctioning trick or treat, announced at a recent meeting that interested homeowners may choose to turn on their porch lights 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 and entertain costumed children eager to celebrate Halloween.
