We asked the candidates: What would be your top priority if elected?
Tara Zrinski: “My first priority will be to break the culture of corruption and gridlock that has created partisan infighting, but leaves us behind. We can’t fix Pennsylvania until we fix that problem. I will build the coalition to institute a gift ban so elected officials will listen to their constituents not corporate lobbyists. That’s why I am not taking any money from corporate interest groups.
Pennsylvania is ranked as the sixth most corrupt state. Families have a high cost of living and are forced to pay high property taxes, healthcare premiums and copays and small business owners share the burden of healthcare and property tax without a solution in sight. The reason that these problems are never addressed is because of the legal bribery in Harrisburg. Politicians are able to accept unlimited amounts of money from corporate interest groups and no longer serve us, the people. I will join the current elected officials that agree so we can finally pass a gift ban. Then, we can finally end the corruption in Harrisburg and deliver on the promise for real property tax reform, a healthcare system that works for everyone and environment protection.”
