We asked the candidates: What would be your top priority if elected/re-elected??
Samuelson: “Good schools and educational opportunities for the next generation are essential for the future of our state. I am a fierce advocate for education, and I strongly opposed the deep cuts in school funding enacted during the prior administration. It took years to restore K-12 funding and the cuts to higher education have yet to be fully restored. I am a cosponsor of legislation to fully implement the state’s fair funding formula, which would benefit Bethlehem Area School District students and provide relief to property taxpayers. I‘ve supported specific grant funding for our community including a $385,000 state grant for the LIberty High School Wellness Center. I am a hands-on legislator who is an active member of our school community working with principals, teachers and students on a wide variety of educational endeavors. I’m also an active volunteer for the Freedom HS Theatre Company.”
Scott J. Hough: No reply to our inquiry.
