Elizabeth “Lib” A. Dorwart, centenarian, formerly of Hokendauqua, died Oct. 15, 2020. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Dorwart for 36 years.
She was a daughter of the late David A. and Ruth M. (Brandt) Smith.
She was a bookkeeper for Whitehall High School and then in the Whitehall-Coplay School District for many years before she retired. Earlier in life, she worked for the General Ribbon Mills, Catasauqua.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women and assisted at many church functions.
She bowled at Coplay Saengerbund well into her later years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean D. Madea and her husband Thomas F. Jr., with whom she resided; two granddaughters, Michelle Waskiewicz and her husband Robert and their children Kyle and Grace and Megan Dorwart and her fiance Christopher Craig; a sister-in-law, Betty M. Dorwart; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
She was predeceased by a son, David H. Dorwart.
There will be a viewing 3-6 p.m. Oct. 23 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, 18052. Properly worn facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Services will be private.
