Catasauqua: George Taylor House plans tours

Don’t miss Harvest and Haunts 1-10 p.m. Oct. 31 at George Taylor House, Lehigh and Poplar streets.

There will be family-friendly house tours and living history demonstrations 1-4 p.m.

As day turns to night, volunteers will be giving haunted, supernatural tours 6-10 p.m.

There will be a VIP-all-access tour for one group of up to eight people 11 p.m.-1 a.m. Message the Facebook page for details.

Light refreshments will be available for a donation.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will be holding a chicken dinner or pork sandwich dinner fundraiser by Lorah’s Pig Roasters and Farm Market.

Each dinner will feature half of a roasted chicken or a pork sandwich, baked potato, coleslaw and dessert. The deadline for orders is set for Oct. 26.

Dinner pickup will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 31 at Fireman’s Field on Race Street.

The annual Fest O’ Fall fundraiser has been canceled this year due to COVID-19, but it will be back next year.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a bag sale Oct. 26-30 on everything in the shop, unless otherwise marked.

The new hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

You must wear a mask to enter the store, and only five customers are allowed in at one time.

The shop will be accepting donations of clean, used clothing Nov. 2.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
