The cheer is here! On Oct. 17, Heidelberg Union Church, 5187 Irvin Road, Heidelberg Township, is having a “Heart and Soul Drive-Through” fundraiser.

This event will take place in the church parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.

People interested in helping those in need through donations and prayers may contribute in three ways - donating nonperishable food items, donations of cut or potted flowers and/or monetary donations at the joyful noise dollar and change drop.

Food donations will be given to the Northern Lehigh and Lowhill food banks.

Flowers will be given to local nursing homes and homebound residents who are feeling forgotten in these times of quarantine.

To donate flowers, park and leave your flowers at the cross garden and say a brief prayer or drive your car in front of the cross garden and give them to a volunteer.

Joyful noise donations will go toward purchasing Christmas gifts for children in the Adopt-A-Child program.

That’s the spirit!

There will be a Halloween Truck or Treat 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Heidelberg Union Church parking lot.

Children are invited to trick or treat from parked vehicle to parked vehicle.

Please wear a COVID-19 mask for safety protection.

Folks are needed to bring their cars, trucks or vans decorated for Halloween, along with some candy to share.

Be sure the candy is wrapped individually or handed out in person. You may not use community grab bowls.

Due to COVID-19, the kitchen will be closed. There is no rain date.

To participate by decorating a vehicle, call the church office at 610-767-4740 and leave name and phone number.

Just a thought! The person you will spend the most time with in your life is yourself, so better try to make yourself as interesting as possible.
