North Catasauqua will hold trick or treat

North Catasauqua Borough Council was unable to hold a meeting Oct. 5 because there were not enough council members in attendance to constitute a quorum.

Mayor William Molchany, however, announced North Catasauqua will still be holding trick-or-treat night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. He encouraged residents to offer prepackaged candy only and to leave the treats out for children to take themselves, rather than hand them out directly.

Social distancing, hand sanitizer and face masks are all recommended to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19.

Molchany stressed Halloween costume masks should not be worn over top of or in place of protective face masks. Instead, he recommended trick-or-treaters wear Halloween-themed protective face masks to match their costumes.
