Beatrice T. Bettinger, 92, of Palm City, Fla., formerly of New Tripoli, died peacefully Oct. 2, 2020.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Bettinger, who died in 1986.
Daughter of Italian immigrants, Bernard Fiorentino and Rose Marie Endiso, she was born Jan. 19, 1928 in Orange, N.J. Affectionately referred to as “Bea,” she was well known for making and teaching others how to make her handmade porcelain dolls and eventually recognized as “the pickle lady” at flea markets.
She is survived by two of her eight siblings James and Emanuel Fiorentino, as well as her children, Patricia Caamano, Michael Reffie, Peter Reffie and his wife, Amy, and Theresa Snyder; 13 loving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her laughter and wit will be missed by many.
A private graveside funeral service at Jacob’s Union Cemetery, New Tripoli, will take place at the convenience of the family.
