Trick or treat will be held in Lower and Upper Milford townships

We continue to get notification of events canceled due to the virus.
Old Zionsville United Church of Christ reports they have made the difficult decision to cancel their annual bazaar and filled basket auction, usually held on the second Saturday of November, for the health and safety of all involved. They fully expect to return next year.
The Lower Lehigh AARP has canceled its meetings through the end of the year.
We recommend you check with the appropriate organizations close to the time for events or meetings, even if cancellations have not been announced.
The Upper Milford Township Historical Society has canceled its meeting for October, due to the virus.
Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus, has canceled the Women of Faith Craft Fair for December. They will notify everyone when a decision is made regarding the December 2021 fair.
Area kids will be happy to know Halloween is still going to be observed in both townships. Trick or treat in Lower Milford will be 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 and in Upper Milford it will be 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
The Lower Milford Township Planning Commission is looking for a member. The term is four years and the commission meets 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of the month.
Meeting schedules in Upper and Lower Milford are gradually getting back to normal.
In Upper Milford supervisors met Oct. 1 and will hold the second meeting of the month 7 p.m. Oct. 15 in person and on Zoom.
The recreation committee will hold its regular meeting Oct. 19.
The joint Environmental Advisory Council will meet 5 p.m. Oct. 26 to do cleanup in the Emmaus Public Library buffer. They will not meet in November or December. The planning commission is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
The zoning hearing board will meet 7 p.m. Oct. 12. Two appeals are scheduled. A resident in the 5100 block of Vera Cruz Road is requesting a special exception and a variance to construct a detached pole building at that address. MPRE Properties of Macungie is seeking a special exception and/or a variance to convert the existing nonresidential portion of a building at 4345 Mill Road to two additional dwelling units.
Lower Milford Township supervisors are scheduled to meet 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the township building. The historical commission is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13. The recreation and open space committee meeting is scheduled Oct. 14.
Lower Milford reminds residents masks are still required in the township building.
Upper Milford Township offices are open for in-person service, also with masks required. The drop box is still outside for anyone who does not feel comfortable going inside and township staff can assist by email or phone.
