The Rev. Joseph “Father Joe” S. Falzone died Sept. 18, 2020. He was the husband of Joan L. (Weichel) Falzone for 44 years.

Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late Antoinette and Thomas Falzone.

He was a graduate of Pittston High School. He attended Wilkes College, was a 1954 graduate of Lehigh University and completed coursework at General Theological Seminary, New York City, in 1957.

After ordination to the priesthood, he was appointed vicar of Christ Church in Forest City. He became, in 1946, rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Whitehall, for 34 years before moving to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Allentown, until his death.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas and his wife Stephanie of Nazareth and Matthew of New Orleans; and four grandchildren, Hailey, Marina, Peyton and Phoebe.

He was predeceased by three brothers, William, Frank and Samuel; and two sisters, Pauline and Providence.
