Lehigh supervisors award Cherryville intersection project bid

Lehigh Township Board of Supervisors agreed to start the Sept. 22 meeting early in order to have ample time for a special budget session.

“Members felt they’d prefer an early start instead of starting at the usual time, which makes the meeting run until 10 p.m.,” township Secretary Alice Rehrig said.

After the budget discussion, it was announced Lehigh Valley Site Contractors was awarded the Cherryville intersection job.

Board members also granted a deferral to the Hills at Greenock plan and granted an extension until Jan. 30, 2021, for Top of the Mountain Estates with the township requesting an update.

There was more discussion about the Primrose Lane drainage problem, which has now been viewed by the Northampton County Conservation District. They said they believe it may come down to township ordinances. Supervisors carried a motion to determine the problem and what needs to be done to mitigate it.

In addition, two ordinances are being considered for adoption at the Oct. 27 meeting. They are ordinance 2020-2 amending recreation fees associated with nonresidential development and ordinance 2020-4 amending house numbering requirements. Both can be viewed on the township website, lehightownship.com.

It was reported the Oct. 13 meeting will also be starting early. It is scheduled to begin 6 p.m.
