The 11th annual basket social at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church is scheduled to be held 5-7 p.m. Oct. 9, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 10 and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 11 in the parish hall, 618 Fullerton Ave.
All baskets and prizes are valued at more than $25. This includes area business donations of show and game tickets and certificates to area restaurants and stores. A big ticket raffle is available for prizes worth more than $50.
The drawing starts 2:30 p.m. Oct. 11.
Takeout food will be available for purchase all weekend.

Deadlines are approaching for two events at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St.
One is a pastie sale. There will be 12-ounce meat and vegetable pasties and 6-ounce fruit pasties.
The deadline to order is Oct. 11, and delivery is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Oct. 28 and 31 in the church parking lot.
The pasties are made by Mr. Pastie from Pen Argyl and are frozen.
For pricing, a full list of varieties available or an order form, contact the church office at 610-264-8421. Payment is due at the time of order.
Secondly, St. John’s UCC is also having a takeout chicken dinner Oct. 23, which will include half of a chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, corn, roll and butter. The deadline to order is Oct. 14.
