Finance department returns to township offices

Township departments are returning to their respective offices as repairs have been completed. The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners held its Sept. 17 meeting back in their usual place. The finance department and half of the planning department have returned to their offices.

The offices for state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-134th and the tax collector will move to the Lower Macungie Community Center while repairs are completed.

Lower Macungie Township announced its Veterans Day program has been canceled for this year. The annual collection of pajamas and items for Troop care packages will continue. Items for both programs can be taken to the community center.

The commissioners thanked the garden club and the Weber family for the upkeep of the grounds.

Credit was given to the Pennsylvania State Police during a recent assault on an elderly couple in a trailer court near Hamilton Crossings. The suspects were found and arrested.

The township pickup truck for sale will be listed on Municibid.

There are two requests for park memorials. One is from the family of Claudia Watson. They are requesting a memorial bench at East Texas Park. The second request is for a tree, a plaque and a bench at the Brent McNabb Park in front of Wawa on Hamilton Boulevard.
