You are invited to the first-ever Greater Bath Area Chamber of Commerce Restaurant Week, which takes place Oct. 4-10 at various restaurants in and around Bath.
The event involves “serving up delicious eats and special treats while supporting local Bath area businesses,” the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce website states.
The Chamber is looking to bring people from all over the Lehigh Valley and beyond to the eateries in Bath and Northampton boroughs.
Jessica O’Donnell, executive vice president of affiliated chambers for GLVCC, said, “The purpose of restaurant week (for businesses) is to offer greatly enticing specials for one week - to boost [their] sales for that week, to encourage new customers to try [their] food or to persuade returning customers to try something new and/or to bring along their friends and family.”
With this season being “a relatively slow time of year,” O’Donnell said, the Chamber is seeking to help restaurants.
O’Donnell added the Chamber understands there is not a “one-size-fits-all model” right now. Because of this, restaurants are able to choose between offering a fixed-price dine-in menu, a fixed-price takeout menu, a gift card deal and more.
“We understand our restaurants are dealing with changing regulations and all sorts of challenges during the pandemic,” said Kylie Adams, manager of affiliated chambers for GLVCC. “Our restaurant week is designed to cater to each restaurant to produce what works best for their business. Not only that, but restaurant weeks offer an opportunity to try new places and old favorites!”
With a spectrum of special menus and deals, the choices offer diners a variety of plates for different tastes, budgets and eating in or takeout preferences.
Restaurants participating in the event were asked to offer an enticing deal for Oct. 4-10 and to promote it on their social media outlets.
O’Donnell and the people she works with organize many restaurant weeks, including one for Whitehall and the surrounding area and, most recently, Nazareth and the surrounding area.
For Bath and the surrounding area, this is the first year, and the Chamber is excited about that.
“The Bath Area Chamber has been working toward a restaurant week for over a year now, and this is the perfect time to hold our inaugural event,” O’Donnell said. “Our businesses need our support in these challenging times, and we’re happy to have a way to do that. My hope is to make this an annual event like we have in many other communities across the Lehigh Valley.
“We want this to be a successful initiative for all parties involved,” O’Donnell said. “Us supporting local keeps money local, and that is what this initiative is about - supporting local eateries in the greater Bath area.”
