Whitehall-Coplay Press stopped by Lehigh Valley Mall Sept. 20 and asked shoppers if they felt safe given the report of a person firing shots inside the night before.
Many offered comments but chose not to go on record.
Several shoppers who agreed to have their opinions published follow. They were asked the following question.
Given the events of yesterday, what made you feel safe shopping here today?
“Well, from what I read, the police did a pretty good job. They showed up, helped people out, stuff like that. Shootings in my hometown were a lot scarier than this, so I guess it just feels like another day.” Jorge Vazquez
“I didn't even know until I got here. I'm from out of town. I was just surprising my sister at work, and she told me when I got here. It's crazy.” Alice Birch
