As of Sept. 10, the Northampton County Elections Office has received 54,076 applications for mail-in ballots for the Nov. 3 general election. The elections office anticipates it will begin mailing ballots out to voters at the end of September.
The last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot is Oct. 27. Voters who have requested a mail-in ballot, but would like to vote on the machines instead, must bring the mail-in ballot and the envelope to their polling place. The Judge of Elections will spoil the mail-in ballot and allow the voter to cast their ballot on the machine.
Voters may send an application for a mail-in ballot to the Election’s Office at (https://www.northamptoncounty.org/CTYADMN/ELECTNS/Documents/Mail%20In%20Ballot%20Application.pdf) or apply on-line at: https://www.votespa.com
Citizens who sign up on votespa.com will receive emails about their application/ballot status. Voters who applied on paper can track the status of their ballot at votespa.com
Mail-in ballots must be returned to the elections office by 8 p.m. Nov. 3 to be counted. It is recommended that, once it is received, voters return their ballot as soon as possible or at least get it in the mail by Oct. 20.
