Whitehall’s cross country team started its season on Tuesday afternoon with a meet at Allen.

Allen didn’t have any girls run in the race, leaving Whitehall as the winner.

Mikayla Warren took first with a time of 24:08, followed by Mackenzie Laub who was second with a time of 26:37. Brianna Uhnak was third with a time of 28:42.

Other finishers for the Zephs were: 4. Kyla Pascoe 30:29, 5. Allison Pavone 30:29, 6. Christen Makhoul 30:50, 7. Michelle Vazquez 32:06, 8. Tessa Hopkins 32:32, 9. Selina Chen 33:08, 10. Ella Hadersbeck 33:57, 11. Aoife Kearney 35:12 and 12. Brianna Thomas 37:39.

For the boys, Sean Connolly took first with a time of 20:25. Gavin Hagley was second in 20:41 and Austin Zucal of Allen took third in 20:44. Whitehall’s Christian Foehrkolb was the third Zeph to cross taking fourth overall in 21:10.
