Four fire stations are dispatched shortly after 7 a.m. Sept. 12, to a reported dwelling fire at 1799 Savercool Ave., on Salisbury Township's east side. First on the scene was Eastern Salisbury Fire Department Chief Ian Dodson who found the residence filled with smoke from a malfunctioning oil burner. Firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes ventilating the structure to clear the smoke, measuring toxic gas levels and checking for any fire in the system. Fire departments responding were Eastern Salisbury, Western Salisbury, Lower Saucon and Fountain Hill. Eastern Salisbury fire police diverted traffic from the scene. PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH
