District offering free meals to all students

According to information provided by Parkland School District Director of Community Relations and Development Nicole McGalla, the district is offering free breakfast and lunch for all students through Dec. 31.

All Parkland students will be eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch each instructional school day.

The change in programming is the result of USDA announcing an extension to the national waivers, which allow all students to receive free meals during the pandemic.

This change also applies to the district’s “Meals to Go” program, which allows parents to sign up and pick up meals to go every Wednesday for the days their students are learning virtually.

Questions concerning the change in our program should be directed to 610-351-5670 or seierl1@parklandsd.org.

A la carte menu items still will be available for purchase.

If there is money in a student’s MySchoolBucks.com accounts, it may be used for those items and meals in the new year when this program is scheduled to expire.
