9/11 tribute honors first responders

PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH Firefighters from Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company and Eastern Salisbury Fire Department are among units from throughout Lehigh County who attended a Sept. 11 memorial tribute to honor first responders who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on America. The tribute was held in the parking lot of the Mission BBQ restaurant, 1421 Grape St., Whitehall. The tribute included a bagpiper playing “Amazing Grace,” a bugler sounding taps and Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish providing an a cappella rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and verbal tributes to first responders. Mission BBQ, a longtime supporter of law enforcement, the military and fire and medical responders, provided lunch for those first responders attending the tribute. See additional photos on Page A5.
