BETHLEHEM Church offers new program for kids

Under the umbrella of its longtime Preschool and Extended Care program, First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem is offering a new program option for local families’ child care needs. It will be offered at the church’s 30-acre campus at 2344 Center St. in Bethlehem.

FPCB’s School-Age Program will soon open to provide supervised virtual learning support in a safe, engaging environment for students in kindergarten - grade 5. Children enrolled in their school’s hybrid program may attend the FPCB program on their remote learning days.

The new program will be offered in the church’s Children’s Center, following Pa. Health and Human Services COVID-19 Guidelines for Schools, in a safe, child-friendly setting with indoor and outdoor spaces.

The purpose is to provide a supportive, safe learning space for the online portion of the curriculum, for the days the children are not attending classes at their schools. Each child will provide their own laptop/Chrome book for their online lessons.

Experienced teachers will supervise and support the online portion of each child’s day. Children will also be provided with interesting and challenging classroom activities, along with art, sports, outdoor and other hands-on explorations and projects.

The program will be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the daily tuition for one student is $50. Discounts are available for multiple children from the same family and additional discounts may be available, based on need, on a case-by-case basis. Scholarships may be available.
