HNL Lab Medicine enhances patient safety with initiative

HNL Lab Medicine, a leader in high-quality, innovative laboratory medicine services, has enhanced the patient experience with multiple programs as part of an ongoing safety and wellness initiative.

Remote (touchless) check-in, Ready for You! and House Calls are options that provide a high level of safety, comfort and convenience, and gives patients peace of mind.

According to a recent poll, nearly half of United States citizens said they or a family member have skipped or delayed medical care because of COVID-19.

While many physicians can rely on telemedicine, advanced remote technology for individuals needing routine bloodwork and diagnostic testing is not an option.

HNL Lab Medicine aims to increase confidence in visiting a lab for those needing critical screenings and improve the environment in which care is provided. HNL Lab Medicine’s enhanced patient experience is based on the latest CDC recommendations and includes:

- Remote (touchless) check-in options allow anyone to check-in for service at any HNL Lab Medicine Patient Center locations from a mobile or desktop device prior to arrival or upon arrival before entering the facility.

- Ready for You! is for those who prefer to wait for service either in their vehicle or outside of a Patient Center and receive a text message when a Phlebotomist is ready for them.

- House Calls is an in-home phlebotomy service where services are provided from the comfort and privacy of your home. Appointments can be easily be scheduled online or by phone.

“We are very pleased to provide these programs to our patient community,” said Maria Foster, Vice President, Sales and Marketing and Chief Customer Experience Officer for HNL Lab Medicine.

“As we continue to adapt and adjust to our new reality during these unprecedented times, our top priority is to continue to enhance the patient experience not only by offering the most advanced testing available, in the most convenient and affordable way but to also provide patients with options that ensure their safety and well-being at every facility,” Foster said.

HNL Lab Medicine has taken additional steps during the COVID-19 pandemic by following the CDC guidelines and recommendations, adjusting waiting area seating, sanitizing facilities, rooms, equipment and common surface areas before and after every patient, adhering to the social distancing policies and dedicating specific service hours for vulnerable patients at all its Patient Center locations.

HNL Lab Medicine, headquarted in Allentown, is a leading multiregional, full-service medical laboratory providing testing and related services to physician offices, hospitals, long-term care facilities, employers and industrial accounts.
