John A. Lohr, 79, of Coplay, died Sept. 4, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Teresa A. (Sacks) Lohr for 58 years.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late John F. and Teresa (Nickischer) Lohr.
He was a 1958 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.
He was in the U.S. Navy at a variety of posts at sea and in Maryland, Italy, Hawaii and Washington, D.C., until he retired as a chief petty officer in 1974.
He was a warehouse associate for several companies and was retired from Boise Cascade.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Teresa A. Lohr-Wenner and her husband Michael of Coplay; a son, John E. and his wife Kathy of Lexington Park, Md.; three grandchildren, Kathleen and her husband Pat Ward, Jennifer and her husband Danny Thelen and John Earl and his wife Megan; seven great-grandchildren, Lexis, Joseph, Nicholas, Olivia, Madison, Rhett and Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Frances Lohr; and extended relatives in both the Lohr and Sacks families.
He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Lohr.
There will be a visitation 9-10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., Sept. 11 at the church, 4 S. Fifth St. Coplay, 18037. Wear a mask and practice social distancing.
