Curtis “Gator” D. Walbert, 68, of Whitehall, died Aug. 27, 2020, at home, after losing a battle with cancer.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Solomon) Walbert.
He was a 1970 graduate of Whitehall High School and attended trade school in Williamsport.
He was a draftsman and a lineman with PP&L Electric until he retired in 2015. He was the former emergency management coordinator and safety officer, and earlier was the chief and past president, of the Whitehall Emergency Squad. He was an auxiliary police officer. He was a township commissioner and a board president.
He attended St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fullerton.
He was a life member of Fullerton Fire Company No. 1, as well as West Catasauqua Fire Company, Woodlawn Fire Company and Fullerton American Legion Post 367.
He is survived by a son, Brian S. and his fiancee Carissa Beck of Whitehall; three grandchildren, Brylee, Brooke and Landen; a daughter, Aubrie M. Miller and her husband Adam of Breinigsville; and two brothers, Ronald Walbert of Lower Towamensing Township and Glenn Walbert and his wife Karen of Bethlehem.
Arrangement were made by Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., Whitehall.
