James P. Kuhns, 78, of Orefield, died Aug. 24, 2020 at home.

He and his wife, Janet (Follweiler) Kuhns, were married 28 years in April.

Born in Trexlertown, he was the son of the late Paul and Estella (Trexler) Kuhns.

A foreman and lineman for PPL Electric for 40 years, he retired in 2005.

He was a fast pitch softball pitcher for various teams around the Lehigh Valley for many years, as well as an umpire.

He also enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball and golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Anne Bogert (Steven) of Breinigsville, Steven Kuhns (Marnie) of Kunkletown; and stepchildren Brian Stafford (Jaime) of Emmaus, Christopher Stafford (Ashley) of Allentown, and Dana Beson (Trevor) of Wescosville; sister Carol Roeder (Larry) of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Charles.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
