South Whitehall police offered a Youth Law Enforcement Camp Aug. 10-14 at the Lehigh County Sport Fields, Cetronia.
Programs included a visit by the Pennsylvania State Police helicopter, and the Bethlehem Police Department’s mounted patrol horses.
South Whitehall and Upper Macungie K-9 teams gave a live demonstration.
Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel instructed the youngsters in basic first aid and CPR, as well as providing rest room facilities in their headquarters at 4300 Broadway.
Each day started with physical fitness activities before the presentations.
Participants were awarded a real wooden nickel for correctly answering questions, participating in activities and becoming acquainted with their fellow attendees.
On their final day, the kids shared the information they learned about each other. This was designed to make new friends and to understand the value of creating relationships.
