All secondary students will begin the school year online with remote classes starting Sept. 8 until Oct. 26.
Students who are not fully remote and plan on attending in-person education starting Oct. 26, are expected to come into school the week of Aug. 31 to meet their teachers and obtain learning materials.
In-person, hybrid school will be held 7:23 a.m. until 11 a.m. Students will report to their first period class when they arrive, where it will begin with a 30-minute orientation that will discuss health and safety protocols, among other important information regarding this school year.
Students will attend physical school depending on their last name. Students with last initials A-E attended Emmaus High School, 500 Macungie Ave., Aug. 31, while hybrid students with last names F-Z logged in to their classes remotely. This means students who attended EHS in person will log in online whenever they are not in school physically.
Students with last names F-K attended EHS Sept. 1, while hybrid students with last names A-E and L-Z logged in to their classes remotely. Students with the last names L-Q will attend EHS Sept. 2, while hybrid students with last names A-K and R-Z will log in remotely. Finally, students with the last names R-Z will attend EHS Sept. 3, while hybrid students with last names A-Q will log in to their classes remotely.
Fully remote students are also expected to log in to their classes online at 7:23 a.m.
For more information, see the Emmaus High School website.
Students who chose to remain fully online/remote on the family survey are asked to come to the EHS building to pick up any materials and meet their teachers. The schedule for fully online students to pick up materials and meet their teachers at EHS follows: Fully remote ninth grade students with last names A-K reported to EHS noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 31, while students with last names L-Z reported between 1 and 2 p.m.
Fully remote 10th grade students with last names A-K reported to EHS noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 1, while students with last names L-Z reported between 1 and 2 p.m.
Fully remote 11th grade students with last names A-K will report to EHS between noon and 1 p.m. Sept. 2, while students with last names L-Z will report between 1 and 2 p.m.
Lastly, fully remote 12th grade students will report to EHS between noon and 1 p.m. Sept. 3, while students with last names L-Z will report between 1 and 2 p.m.
Remote students unable to attend EHS during their assigned time listed above may pick up their belongings between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2; however, they will not be able to meet with their teachers as teachers will not be present at that time.
EHS students who attend Lehigh Career and Technical Institute for half-day or full-day programs will be able to participate in their EHS courses remotely from home while still being able to attend their LCTI programs in person.
Drivers training will not be offered during the first semester of this school year due to COVID-19. The program will resume whenever it is deemed safe.
