Northampton: Grace United Church of Christ to bless backpacks Sept. 20
Grace United Church of Christ will hold a blessing of the backpacks 1 p.m. Sept. 20 in the church parking lot, 902 Lincoln Ave.
Students and teachers are encouraged to bring along backpacks or lunchboxes for a special blessing.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is registering for the 2020-21 school year.
The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
Masks are required for children in the 3- and 4-year-old classes. There is a registration fee and monthly tuition.

Northampton Area Historical Society canceled its fall garage and mum sale, as well as the monthly open house and the “Businesses of a Bygone Era” program.
Historical society volunteers are thankful for the members of the community who made donations of business artifacts for the collection.

Northampton Area Food Bank, 1601 Canal St., is requesting donations for the upcoming holidays. Needed items are turkeys, canned cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, boxed stuffing and pumpkin pies.
