Welcome back to a new academic year!

As this beginning school year will be quite different, be sure to constantly check for updates and emails from your child’s school. Visit the Whitehall-Coplay School District website, whitehallcoplay.org, for all the important forms and important updates.

Please follow the hybrid schedule your child has been assigned.

WCSD is doing the very best to keep your child safe and to keep you informed.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact your child’s school. Be sure your child’s school has your correct phone numbers and emails.

Schools will be closed Sept. 4 and 7 for Labor Day. Classes will be in session again Sept. 8.

Breakfast begins throughout the district Sept. 8.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear their patriotic colors of red, white and blue on Patriots Day Sept. 11 to honor and show remembrance and respect to 9/11.

Attention, Whitehall High School seniors: Jaclyn Ruzbacki, a representative from Triangle Tech, will do virtual visits 3 p.m. Sept. 8 and 10 and Oct. 12 and 14.

Also, the University of Pittsburgh admissions counselor, Rachel Perry, is holding a virtual presentation on the topics listed below 7 p.m. Sept. 8.

She will be going over some Pittsburgh background, application information and updates and where your other questions can be answered. Visit the WCSD website to register for this event.

Stay in touch on social media with Whitehall-Coplay Middle School. In an effort to keep parents and students more informed about WCMS, the school has established social media sites for the public to follow. There you will find postings to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The addresses are facebook.com/wcmszephyrs, twitter.com/WCMSZephyrs and instagram.com/wcmszephyrs.

If you like to search hashtags, check out two they will be using to help people find them - #zephyrtough and #webelongatwhitehall.

Parents and guardians are reminded to check the parent portals for the latest information, including monthly newsletters. You will also be able to access your child’s report card. There is an online student update site, which is now available for updates for the 2020-21 school year.

Updating phone numbers is important. Remember to update student information on the parent portal. WCSD requests all student records be reviewed and/or updated, so WCSD has accurate contact and medical records for the start of school. Instructions were included in a letter in the August mailing that has student/user ID and password information. Parents can enter the site by visiting update.whitehallcoplay.org.
