Bertha R. Fritz, 86, of Emmaus, died Aug. 27, 2020, at home. She was the wife of the late Rev. Harvey J. Fritz Jr.

Born in Elmira, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late G. Ross and Martha (Good) Weakland.

She was a graduate of Edison High School and attended Bob Jones University.

She taught ladies Bible studies and Sunday school for several Bible fellowship churches and at Fellowship Community Church, Whitehall, and served as an officer of women’s missionary societies. She worked part time in the activities and business offices at fellowship communities.

She was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus.

She is survived by a daughter, Becky Jo and her husband Richard Kauffman of Emmaus; a son, David Scott and his wife Karen of Wellington, Fla.; a brother, Jack Weakland and his wife Jeanne of Horseheads, N.Y.; a sister, Mary and her husband Robert Kimball of Canisteo, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Cook, Lisa Mason, Todd Kauffman, Jason Kauffman, Lauren Bonner, David Scott Jr. and Matthew; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and George Weakland.
