Ada E. Hines, 85, of Walnutport, died Aug. 27, 2020. She was the wife of Harvey “Hank” A. Hines for 66 years.

Born in Treichlers, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Ruth (Laub) Handwerk.

She graduated from Northampton High School in 1952.

She was a manager for the former Scotties Fashions in Palmerton, Little Gap and Treichlers for many years until retiring.

She was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Slatington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane and her husband Robert A. Schmidt of Slatington with whom she resided; a brother, Harvey with Althea Handwerk of Walnutport; a sister, Arlene George of Walnutport; two grandchildren, Eric with Jennifer Deibert and Vicki Ayers with Alan Leone; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by five siblings, Louis, Victor Jr. and Arthur Handwerk and Verna Smith and Mildred Strohl-Voortman.
