The Parkland High School engineering team of Delilah Jabbour, Tyler Bartman and Noah Colon won first place this spring in the Philadelphia University Architecture Design Competition.
Entrants came from four local states to enter this four monthlong, well respected competition.
The challenge required the students to develop a thesis statement for a specific poet/writer and design a structure and exterior spaces around the essence of his/her work.
After choosing Henry David Thoreau they developed a minimalist, nature-centric building and surrounding landscape to convey his lifelong message.
The students work was displayed in engineering showcase in the back wing at the high school.
