Students receive scholarships from Ai Orthodontics

Six area high school graduates were presented with $1,000 “Make a Difference” college scholarships Aug. 19 during an outdoor ceremony hosted by Dr. Aejaaz Issa, owner of Ai Orthodontics, 550 Harrison St., Emmaus.

The recipients are:

·Samar Latefa, Parkland High School graduate, who will attend Penn State University and major in biology. The scholarship was given in honor and memory of Dr. William Baringer.

·Madison Gochnauer, Upper Perkiomen High School graduate, who will attend Penn State University as a biomedical major. The scholarship was given by Cindy Shoemaker of Allentown in memory of Emily Shoemaker.

·Matthew Staack, Salisbury High School graduate who will attend West Virginia University as a chemical engineering major. The scholarship was given by Dr. Phillip Grubb of Emmaus.

·Aiden Connolly, Emmaus High School graduate who will attend Vermont University as an environmental engineering major. The scholarship is in memory of Mehdi Jaffer.

·Tyson Borelli, William Allen High School graduate who will attend Muhlenberg College and major in project management and computer science.

·Emeline Janie, Allentown Central Catholic High School graduate who will attend Moravian College and major in nursing.
