James L. Farley, 79, of Fogelsville, died Aug. 21, 2020 at home.

He and his wife, Nancy L. (Fyfe) Farley, were married 59 years last December.

Born in Lake Placid, N.Y., he was a son of the late Lawrence J. and Thelma (Jacquis) Farley.

He worked at the former Sacred Heart Hospital and later Lehigh Valley Hospital for many years as an orderly, as well as in the housekeeping and security departments.

A life member of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, he was the sexton at St. John’s United Church of Christ for many years.

He also did volunteer research for the Moravian Historical Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, James J. Farley (Doris) of Bath, Ricky A. Farley (Wanda) of Topton; brother Jerry Farley and sister Joan Mesec (Gary), all of Lake Placid; grandchildren James (Karlee), Matthew (Alexis), Ricky (Felicia) and Melissa (Samuel); and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
