Ai Orthodontics provides scholarships

Six area high school graduates were presented with $1,000 “Make a difference” college scholarships at an outdoor ceremony hosted by Dr. Aejaaz Issa, owner of Ai Orthodontics, 550 Harrison St., Emmaus, Aug. 19.

The recipients are:

Samar Latefa, a Parkland High School graduate, will attend Penn State University and major in biology. The scholarship was given in honor and memory of Dr. William Baringer.

Madison Gochnauer, an Upper Perkiomen High School graduate, will attend Penn State University as a biomedical major. The scholarship was given by Cindy Shoemaker, of Allentown, in memory of Emily Shoemaker.

Matthew Staack, a Salisbury High School graduate, will attend West Virginia University as a chemical engineering major. The scholarship was given by Dr. Phillip Grubb, of Emmaus.

Aiden Connolly, an Emmaus High School graduate, will attend University of Vermont as an environmental engineering major. The scholarship is in memory of Mehdi Jaffer.

Tyson Borelli, a William Allen High School graduate, will attend Muhlenberg College and major in project management and computer science.

Emeline Janie, an Allentown Central Catholic High School graduate, will attend Moravian College and major in nursing.
