Mark your calendar! On Aug. 22, Germansville Fire Company is having a takeout wing and cheese-steak night fundraiser.
This drive-through, contactless, pickup only food service will run from 5-8 p.m.
No pre- or phone-in orders. Food provided first come, first-served.No special requests will be taken.
The limited menu includes: one cheesesteak and fries (with onions and sauce on the side); 10 wings and fries (with barbecue, hot, mild sauce on the side); and six chicken nuggets and fries.
Cash and credit cards will be accepted.
The fire company uses canola oil for frying.

With the fire company in mind, consider supporting its current membership drive.
As with dues, donations toward the fire company may be sent to Goodwill Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Germansville, PA 18053.
Any resident who has not received a membership form by mail, may call the fire company at 610-767-7757 and leave name and phone number.

Making smiles! Donations of nonperishable food items are needed at Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli.
Items most wanted are cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, juices, soups, Ramen noodles, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits, pastas, beans, tuna, vegetables and meats.
Also needed are personal care products, such as tissues, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and deodorant, etc.
Each donation is very much appreciated and may be dropped off at the pantry 9-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and on the last Saturday of every month.
The next drop off dates are Aug. 29 and Sept. 1.
Please leave the items outside the pantry’s front door without entering.
